Pay As You Earn (PAYE) is Ireland's income tax system. 20% on income up to €44,000 (single) and 40% above for 2026.

What is USC?

The Universal Social Charge (USC) is a tax on gross income, ranging from 0.5% to 8%. Exempt under €13,000.

What is PRSI?

Pay Related Social Insurance funds welfare and pensions. Employee rate is 4.20% in 2026, rising to 4.35% from October.
